Position: Swim Instructor
We are currently seeking to hire an experienced swim instructor who can assist children and adults of all ages in developing proper swimming techniques and skills.
The responsibilities of the swim instructor include evaluating the performance of each student during swim sessions, providing constructive feedback, maintaining attendance, progress, and accident reports, and ensuring that all swimming aids and equipment are in good working order.
Additionally, you will be expected to support students with special needs, fostering their socialization with other students.
To thrive as a swim instructor, you must exhibit patience and enthusiasm while motivating students to achieve their swimming goals. An outstanding swim instructor should be able to effectively communicate with students and ensure strict adherence to water safety regulations.
What does a swim instructor do?
Swim instructors assist children and adults in acquiring proper swimming techniques, and they may also coach swim teams and help advanced swimmers improve their abilities.
To excel as a swim instructor, you should demonstrate patience and enthusiasm, inspire students to achieve their swimming goals, and prioritize effective communication. Above all, an exceptional swim instructor ensures that students adhere to water safety rules.
Swim Instructor Responsibilities:
- Teach swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities.
- Assist experienced swimmers in enhancing their skills.
- Assess students' progress and adjust teaching programs accordingly.
- Monitor students to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Implement ground rules for each swim session.
- Develop swimming lessons that consider students' abilities and progressive development.
- Identify incorrect swimming techniques and provide corrective guidance to students.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the swimming pool and locker rooms.
- Matric certificate or higher qualification.
- Previous experience as a swim instructor.
- Valid CPR & First Aid qualifications.
- Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules.
- Strong swimming abilities.
- Thorough understanding of swimming and different learning styles for various age groups.
